Boston Marathon – Alum Katherine O'Shea

Why I'm Running

Dear William James Community,

My name is Katherine O’Shea and I am thrilled to be running the 128th Boston Marathon on April 15, 2024 to represent ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ (¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ) and raise money for the School Psychology program.

I graduated from ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ in 2022 with my master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis. Thanks to my education from ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ, combined with my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from Bucknell University, I am a Kindergarten teacher in the Westford Public Schools.

At ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ, faculty member Dr. Ronald Lee, inspired us to research topics that directly related to our interests and the field of behavioral analysis. I chose to research classroom-based interventions for hyperactivity and disruptive behavior. Two years later, I still find myself utilizing these techniques to meaningfully increase the accessibility of my classroom for my students.

I know firsthand what a difference my ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ education makes in helping students thrive in school. Donor support for ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ’s School Psychology program will allow the College to expand academic programs, research opportunities, and access to scholarships while continuing to offer the high-quality education I am proud to have received.

It is my goal to have 500 community members make a donation to support the School Psychology program at ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ. All donors will receive a personalized thank you from me and a limited-edition ¼«ÀÖ½ûµØ Boston Marathon sticker!

Thank you for your support!
